2017 – 2018

On the occasion marking the 20th anniversary of DDKSSM, a 7 day puja (a.k.a. Bhagwat Katha) was hosted on the premises of DDKSSM in November of 2018. This event brought together several hundred members from the local community and was fully funded through donations from participants, local business owners and the Kapilashrami family.

​

Furthermore, DDKSSM published a book on the history of its institution which was released on the final day of the Bhagwat. While the trust of DDKSSM raised the funds required to publish this book, several others (including teachers, students, and prominent members from the local community) contributed to its content. Over 800 copies of the book were published and distributed among the participants and donors.

​

On the conclusion of the Bhagwat Katha, and the occasion of the release of the book on DDKSSM's history we had the great pleasure to have Shri Swami Vigyanand Maharaj ji and Mr. Gautam Bhattachharya (Deputy Ambassador of Sweden to India) among us.

​

With a generous donation of floor tiles from a local business owner in Haldwani, we successfully replaced the concrete floor in the dining room, kitchen, staff room, main office and courtyard on the ground level with new tile flooring. We would like to express our great appreciation to Mr. Shahi Chandra Chanchal ji (Trustee on the board of DDKSSM) who facilitated this donation, raised additional funds for installation of the new tiles as well as oversaw the installation.

2016 – 2017

 

 

This year our focus was to raise funds and donations towards improving our housing facilities. This included:

​

• Providing students new beds and bedding.

• Performing renovation and repair work of student hostel (e.g. repair of broken windows, replacement of malfunctioning ceiling fans and repaint the rooms).

• Installing CCTV cameras across the campus to enhance the overall security of our students and personnel. We would like to extend our great appreciation to Mr. Patalya ji (Trustee and Secretary of the board of DDKSSM) for his donations for the security camera and facilitating the installation.

In addition, we facilitated issuance of government identity cards for all our students.

​

2015 – 2016

​

 

In 2016 we completed and inaugurated Madan Mohan Kapilashrami Vidya Mandir. We are now working towards raising funds and expanding our school administration to allow us seek government approval for operating and conducting higher education.

​

Following several years of persistent and dedicated efforts by the board of DDKSSM, we are extremely pleased to announce the state government of Uttarakhand granted our application for government aid to cover the salaries of our teachers and school staff. DDKSSM will now be receiving grants to cover salaries of five teachers, one administrative officer and one kitchen personnel.

This is a great achievement in that we can now offer our teachers and staff members competitive salaries to that offered in government schools while cutting down our own costs (salaries and related expenses represents nearly 2/3 or our institutions monthly expenses).

2014 – 2015

 

 

This is year we initiated the construction Madan Mohan Kapilashrami Vidya Mandir - an institution supporting higher education in Vedic and Sanskrit learning that would enable students pursue higher education in their home state.

​

Following a partnership with a local medical clinic we have introduced regular medical and health checkup (including dental) for all our students on annual basis. Such activities will also raise awareness on good health and hygiene practices among the students.

​

2013 – 2014

 

 

Following conducting extensive fundraising campaigns we managed to equip our school with new office furniture, re-paint the school (both on the exterior and interior), install new carpets in the dorms and provide the students new bedding.

​

This year our annual day function, held in December 2014, was a heartwarming event to review accomplishment of our students and present the same to our local community members. This year we were very fortunate to have Shri Bhagat Singh Koshiyari ji (Governor of State of Maharastra, and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and Member of Parliament) among us and present to him our achievements since he last visit in 2009.

 

In addition, we also had the great honor to have Retired India Ambassador Mr. Chandra Mohan Bhandari ji among us at our annual day function. Mr Bhandari ji, who himself is a Vedic Scholar and recognized Yoga master, addressed the students of DDKSSM and shared with them the significance of Vedic culture for today's modern society.

2012 – 2013

We are very pleased to announce that we in 2013 harvested our first crop, lentils grown on the uncultivated fields within the premises of the school property. We greatly thank Mr. Patalya ji (Trustee and Secretary of the board of DDKSSM) for his generous support and hard work on the ground.

We had the great pleasure to have Shri Rajesh Mehrotra (a local business owner and a prominent member of the local community in Haldwani) among us on this occasion.

​2011 – 2012

​

 

Two major construction projects were completed this year:

​

    1. Construction of a boundary wall (protecting the property of the trust and enhancing the overall safety of our students). We are very 

        grateful to Shri Bhagat Singh Khoshyari ji (Governor of State of Maharastra, and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and Member of 

        Parliament) for his generous donation and continuous support that enabled us complete the construction of the wall.

​

    2. Construction of the roof which had caused serious water leak into the classrooms and bedrooms during the monsoon. In addition to

        strengthening the roof, additional three classrooms were constructed on the second floor.

​

This year our annual day function, held in December 2012, was a celebration of our 15 year anniversary with a reunion of alumni that have graduated from DDKSSM in the past. It was a heartwarming event to review the accomplishments of these graduates, some had earned their doctorate degree, become teachers or Sanskrit scholars others well settled good personalities. All of them thanked the school, teachers and administrators for the values, character, education instilled in them and the path to a brighter future paved by DDKSSM.

2010 – 2011

​

​

This year our institution organized the first ever one week residential week camp, in December 2011, in partnership with Uttaranchal Association of North America (UANA) focusing on leadership skills, computer skills, spoken English and team work. The residential camp had in total 30 students participating from various remote areas of the state of Uttaranchal (including some students of DDKSSM), and was a pilot project for other camps in the Uttaranchal being led by UANA throughout 2011.

 

With a generous donation from UANA we could bring broad band internet connection to our computer lab and thus more content to our curriculum for the computer classes.

2008 – 2009

​

​

This year has been an exciting year for DDKSSM students, faculty and the board. For the third year in row, DDKSSM students have achieved great results in the national board exams. While all students passed the exams, with more than half of the students achieved results in 1st division, our student Mr. Ramesh Chandra Nainwal, achieved 1st position in the entire state of Uttaranchal on the national board examination.

 

In addition, the students participated in state-wide competition for debate and recitation as well as singing competition – they came in first place in all these categories! In this connection, our students’ and institution’s achievements were recognized in the local press.

​

We were fortunate to receive moral and economic support from many around the globe. We are recognizing a few key people:

 

• With high appreciation we accept a donation of 300 000 INR ($ 7 000) from Shri Mahish Bhagat ji (Member of Legislative Assembly) for the building of the boundary wall around the school to prevent encroachments from others on school grounds.

• We deeply appreciate the continuous financial support from Mr. Hossein Ghorbanipour and family (a Swedish business owner). In addition to this, Mr. Ghorbanipour has donated five computers and an OfficeJet to the school.

• Five computers have been donated by Mr. Manoj Chandiramani, Senior Vice President – APAC Head IT OP’s, for students classes and usage.

​

With the donations from Mr. Ghorbanipour and Mr. Chandiramani a computer lab (hosting eight computers, internet and scanner/printer) was established that enables our student to actively take part of modern technology.

​

The Annual day function, held in December 2009, was the highlight of the year featuring respected Shri Bhagat Singh Koshiyari ji (Governor of State of Maharastra, and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and Member of Parliament). Accompanying him were the local media, security escorts and various local government officials. Following the welcome speech from our chief administrator, Dr. U. C. Mishraji, and various board members, the students performed a variety of cultural and recreational activities.

​

True to his promise, Shri Koshiyari ji made a very generous donations of Rs. 500 000 from his own discretionary funds with promise of additional government assistance in the future. The school was truly a buzz with activity and excitement that day, with the teachers and student looking their very best.

​

In May 2009, DDKSSM was registered as a tax exempt organization in the U.S.A. and we began the arduous task of spreading the word!
